Powerlifting Knee Sleeves Built for Competition Ranges

Our powerlifting knee sleeves are made in the Oath and Oak Global factory for brands that sell to competitive lifters, built from single-ply neoprene within IPF dimension limits.

  • Single-ply neoprene construction
  • Built to competition dimensions on request
  • Snug competition fit
  • Your logo, team colors and packaging
  • Pairs or singles

What Makes Powerlifting Knee Sleeves Different?

They are made for the squat under meet conditions: thick, tightly fitted neoprene cylinders that give compression and warmth with no straps or added padding.

Competitive lifters often size them down for more rebound and keep a slightly looser pair for training, so brands sell them with clear fit guidance.

Which IPF Rules Apply to Knee Sleeves?

The IPF Technical Rulebook effective 1 March 2026 sets out these requirements for knee sleeves:

RuleRequirement
ConstructionA single ply of neoprene, or mainly neoprene plus one non-supportive fabric layer
Thickness7 mm maximum
Length30 cm maximum
AdditionsNo straps, Velcro, drawstrings or padding
ShapeA continuous cylinder with no holes
ApprovalOnly sleeves from manufacturers on the IPF Approved List can be used at IPF competitions

The construction must not give appreciable support or rebound, so sleeves rely on fit and neoprene alone. Oath and Oak builds to these limits on request.

How Are Competition Sleeves Packed?

Meet sleeves ship in a pair box with a fit card that explains sizing down, putting on and caring for the neoprene.

Team orders can be bagged per athlete with names on the label, while retail packs carry UPC or FNSKU codes.

How Should Customers Size Competition Sleeves?

Measure First

Take the knee measurement mid-kneecap and the calf at its widest point before reading the chart.

Meet Fit

Competition sleeves are often one or two sizes under the chart, and training pairs one size under.

Getting Them On

Inside-out rolling, a dry leg and a little powder make tight sleeves easier to pull into place.

What Should You Test on the Competition Sleeve Sample?

We measure the sample’s thickness and length against the competition limits, and you test the meet fit, pull-on effort and seam comfort.

Production holds those dimensions on every sleeve, and each lot is measured against the sample. Competition-specific designs go through our product development steps first.

How Are Competition Sleeves Checked Before Packing?

Beyond our standard quality control process, competition sleeves are checked for:

  • Thickness against the competition limit at several points
  • Length against the limit
  • No holes, straps or added padding
  • Seam bonding along the full length
  • Size, fit and name labels

Some lifters slide a plastic bag over the leg to get tight sleeves on, but the right size avoids the need. Check your federation’s equipment rules before meet day.

Occasionally, yes. Squatting in meet sleeves during the weeks before competition gets lifters used to the tighter fit and rebound, while a looser pair handles everyday training.

7mm is the standard for competitive powerlifting, giving the most compression allowed under IPF limits. A 5mm option suits customers who also train for weightlifting or conditioning.

No, not at IPF meets. The rulebook strictly forbids combining knee sleeves and knee wraps, and knee wraps are only allowed in competitions designated as equipped.
