Gymnastics Grips for Brands, Clubs and Team Dealers

Gymnastics grips from Oath and Oak Global are cut and finished in our own factory for gymnastics brands, club shops, team dealers and distributors that sell under their own name.

Choose palm guards for beginners or dowel grips for bar work, then set the leather, closure, size range and branding.

Which Grip Types Do We Make for Gymnasts?

Soft leather with two finger holes and no dowel, the usual first grip for young gymnasts. See our leather gymnastics grips.

A rod across the fingers locks the hand onto the bar in circling skills. View our gymnastics dowel grips.

Men's Bar and Rings Grips

Grips for high bar and still rings, built on the same dowel principle and sized for men’s apparatus.

Beginner Dowel Grips

Narrower, smaller grips with softer leather for small hands moving up from palm guards.

Which Materials and Builds Can You Choose?

Inside the Oath and Oak workshop, leather weight decides how quickly a grip breaks in and how long it lasts, so it is matched to the gymnast’s level.

PartOptionsWhat to Specify
Palm leatherSoft beginner leather or heavier competition leatherLeather weight and finish
DowelSkinny, straight or curved shapeDowel shape per model
Wrist closureHook-and-loop, single buckle or double buckleClosure type and strap width
Finger holesTwo holes, cut slightly smallHole spacing per size
ExtrasFinger band to hold the grip onBand on or off

Finger holes are cut small on purpose, because leather stretches and the holes open up as the grip breaks in.

How Are Gymnast Grips Made From Brief to Delivery?

1. Brief and Size Chart

Share the grip types, levels you serve, leather preference, closure and colors with an estimated quantity per size.

2. Sampling and Fit

Sample pairs are made in key sizes so coaches or gymnasts can check fit, dowel position and closure on the bar.

3. Cutting and Finishing

Leather is cut by size, finger holes are punched, dowels are set and straps are stitched before inspection.

4. Pairing and Shipping

Grips are paired by size with your labels and size charts, then shipped to you by air or sea freight.

New grip patterns follow our product development and sampling process.

  • Palm length and finger-hole spacing per size
  • Dowel position and attachment
  • Leather thickness and surface marks
  • Strap stitching, buckle or hook-and-loop function
  • Pairing, size marks and labels

For dowel grips, measure from the tip of the middle finger to the bottom of the palm and match the brand chart. Palm guards are often measured to the base of the middle finger instead.

Between sizes, the smaller size is the usual advice, because leather stretches. New grips should feel almost a little small and the hand should not fully straighten.

Yes. Tight holes can be eased with sandpaper wrapped around a pencil, but only a little at a time, because the leather keeps stretching as the gymnast trains.

Yes. Men wear grips on the high bar and rings, each needing its own cut, while women wear grips on the uneven bars, so the two lines are sized separately.

Store them in a grip bag, avoid heavy chalk or water build-up and brush the leather when it turns smooth, since slick grips can slip on the bar.

Yes. Club orders can carry club colors and gymnast names, and grips for gymnastics clubs are packed by athlete or by size, whichever suits your shop.
